Blackberry has really helped a faster business communication with its push to mail services. (Push to mail is a feature/ service in which the user gets his or her mail directly on his mobiles , just like SMS). If Some of you are planning to buy a blackberry , u can go for Blackberry curve 8900.
If Blackberry bold and storm donot fascinates you or are in not your budget , you can definetely choose BB Curve 8900. It is a great combination of all the good features, good size (a lil smaller than bold) and of course good looks. BB curve 8900 is One the most compact phones of RIM till date
The BB curve 8900 looks great, and made me realise that the good things still do come in small packages. Yes, this phone is a value for money..!
Curve 8900 has many salient features like 3.2 MP camera, GPS, A full HTML Web Browser, Good Contact Mgt, Blue tooth, Infra red, good Microphone, voice clarity, organiser, full QWERTY Key pad, a battery life of about 3 hours of talk time (RIM claims the battery life is that of 4.5 hours oftalk time ! )
The 3.2-megapixel camera takes good and clear pictures, even in low light. The screen of this phone is bright and large, (the brightness of the screen can be changed ).
full Qwerty keypad of this Smartphone makes typing easier and reliable. Each key on the keypad is a bit raised at one side which helps to find them easily with thumb.
Contact management on the Curve 8900 is really awesome!!, One can search for contact by only typing the first name or last name or just title...
The profiles are can also be customized as per the users choice, though initally I found it to be a bit complex.
Messaging is, i guess, the main focus of any BlackBerry, and the Curve 8900 fullfills such tasks very well. Multiple email accounts(up to 10 email accounts) can be easily configured on the device.
RIM for the ease of users have included a large number of keyboard shortcuts to make messaging faster, such as pressing the ’R’ key to reply to a selected message in the inbox, "P " key to go to the previous item , "N" key to go to the next item etc.
The speaker and Multimedia section is also one of the best I have ever found in any hand set..
What it lacks is 3G support. The same could have been incorporated in this handset .
Overall, in my views it’s a good product with MRP of about 25k and if you donot have any problem with absence of 3 G techology (it has EDGE / GPRS ) yoi can definetely purchase this one. If u are of Ahmedabad few shops at Vastrapur (Near mansi Tower) are giving even discount and Raymonds / grasim suit cloth free on purchase of Blackberry cirve , bold and storm !!
