A Thriller -- Well Spun

This was the one of the four books of Sidney Sheldon ( SS ) that I had missed out .

I got through the book quite fast and it was indeed unputdownable.

The story line is well spun with sheldon’s imaginative skills . It has the usual subtle sexism woven into it . The portrayal of the characters is distinctively charecterised by Sheldon’s ingeniousness.

THE PLOT

First a series of characters are unfolded with their bit of history .

And then their connection to Roffe and Sons ( MUlti billion dollar pharmaceutical company ) is revealed . The owner( Sam Roffe ) with whom the rights to sell the shares( along with the other share holding members of the Roffe family ) to public is vested dies in a freak mountaineering accident ( though it is revealed that it was a murder later on) . The sole heir now being Ms Elizabeth Roffe ( The daughter of Sam Roffe ). A series of murder attemts are made on Elizabeth , who manages to out wit the killers.

The story then unfolds ( Sheldon style ) , and finally the suspects become the trusted and vice versa .

The way of suspense is well known to the Sheldon fans. And the portrayal of the different characters and their profession including their way of life is very intutively organized , and not to mention the nerve ending endings to each chapter that makes it truly UNPUTDOWNABLE.

A greta piece of work by SIDNEY SHELDON.
