They will surely make good human beings.

Some where in May 2006, my search for a’good’ school ended with Bloomz. I was quiet impressed by its physical scale. Though it will be right to clear in the beginning that the premises were temporary. My criteria for good school was:

  1. Distance from my residence

I have always been of an opinion that school should be within 3 kms from where child stays. And bloomz passes the first test.

  1. Environment should be conducive to learning and teaching

Glossy buildings, reflective flooring tiles, expensive furniture has never been my priority. rather I look for environment where my child will feel comfortable expressing herself.

  1. Reasonable Fee

yes, I do not come from Birla’s family. I was for a big NO to donation. and monthly expenses should not go beyond 5% of my salary for primary education. Bloomz passes this test too.

  1. Student Teacher ratio

Its better not to have more than 20 kids in one class with and with one teacher. As school was new(In 2006) not many people were willing to opt for it. I found this as a good advantage as there was very close and personal relation between teacher and my daughter. presently this ratio may have exceeded to 23+:1. Hope school will take necessary care.

  1. Teachers and staff shall be open for new IDEAS and shall be easily approachable by parents.

The school was very new and I would say most of the things were in fluid state. and School seemed to be open for IDEAS and it regularly called parents fro discussions.

  1. Timings

Its always good if child gets up early morning and returns by afternoon. After a small nap may be spends quality time with parents in the evening.

  1. A promising future for school and kids.

It was interesting to know that school plan to shift to bigger premises, but threat is it may start asking for donations and more students in a classroom would mean chaos and aloofness in some kids.

*CONS:

*Bloomz International School(BIS) is often seen being dominated by aggressive parents and it runs for seeking help from newly formed PTA(parents teachers’ association). School needs to be more confident and determinant about its policies.

Temporary nature of staff. School has not been able to find so called permanent teachers so far. In last two years I have seen my daughter getting exposed to more than three new teachers in same class.

parents shall be allowed to buy books from outside(obviously for money saving reasons). May be here I am interfering with policies.

Unused notebooks and stationary shall be used in successive year or grade.

My opinion is base on my personal exprerience with BIS in last two years and in no way mean endorsement of the school in any kind.
