KYUUN ???

I guess going by the rating and the title of my review you must have understood that I did NOT like the movie

To best express my frustration with the movie let me ask you think of what can the movie be about?

Take a minute and ask yourself – what will the story / plot of the movie basis what all have you seen in the trailers.

Well there is obviously a Blue sea, 2-3 guys who enjoy diving, there must be a treasure somewhere in an old sunken ship and there must be some bad guys who are after it. Well guess what. THATS IT.

That’s what the whole movie is about.! It is as predictable as any saas Bahu episode.

While the film’s predictability leads to boredom and makes the audience feel like they are being served a kiddish - unserious material best suited for children, the attention to detail is really disappointing and adds to the audience’s woes.

The editing is all over the place. The movie jumps from one sequence to another without warning. The dialogues are cheesy. The acting, well don’t get me started.

Akshay Kumar was never known for his acting and I think he is well aware of his own limitations. That is why he picks up roles were there is no need to really act. and as such the role in Blue is perfect for him. He is playing a rich adventurer who owns a fishing company in the Bahamas, and as a profession goes fishing in his private yacht 9(and not a fishing boat)! So all he has to do is wear good clothes, act all cocky and show a toned torso. So given these parameters he obviously excels

Zayed Khan has tried really hard to act. he shud continue trying, coz he is not even close to what he needs to be, so that he can be called a professional actor.

The worst of the lot is Sanjay Dutt. I still don’t understand why he was chosen for a role in a movie like this. Throughout the movie he looked more like Lara Dutta’s father. He is supposed to be a diving expert but has a paunch so big, the claim carries no merit. That is why in all the posters also where everybody is standing in diving suit, he has his back to the camera(to hide his obvious paunch).

What makes it worse is he has not tried to add any effort to his role and has just delivered standard dialogues while walking & talking like Munna Bhai.

Katrina makes a forgettable guest appearance. And Rahul Dev tots a fake gun in his hand throughout the movie and tries to be cool.

The only positive though are the miscellaneous underwater scenes which are great – all probably stock footage but a visual treat nevertheless.

Lara Dutta has looked sizzling HOT throughout the movie. Specially in underwater scenes the director has got the best out her two piece swimming costumes. adding to the visual treat I was mentioning earlier.

Some bits are outright foolish & stupid, specially the end which is supposed to be a climax so I wont reveal it. Sar nahi peet liya to batana.

This is a perfect example of how cool marketing and jazzy music can be used to drive in traffic for a movie which in reality does not have any substance.

All in all this is a sad attempt at trying to make a movie based on a subject that has not been touched before in Hindi cinemas. Ambitious but totally Amateur

Watch it only if you don’t have any other choice. Its not a long movie so zyada se zyada 2 ghante jhelna padega. And never ever would you get a chance to say to people – that you watched a Blue Film in a theatre. and did not like it:)
