the reason I hate this movie the most is - I had some expectations!
1 - Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Zayed Khan, Lara Dutta(I will acept it, she is seriously looking gorgeous in this movie) and Katrina. Can the starcast be bigger than this?
2 - Promos. breathing taking bike stunts, sharks and Kylie. Certainly, this was the most awaited movie.
3 - A.R. Rehman after the Oscar. The music is definitely not as Rehman’s standard but I liked two songs - Theme blue and Fiqrana very much.
These are the top three reasons why I was waiting eagerly to see this movie.
I surely liked few things.
Very well shot scenes, bikes, Lara and the sea life. Cinematography was really nice.
But somehow
Blue failed to impress me. Reasons?
1 - It was suppose to be an adventure movie. But leaving the bike scenes, there was hardly any sea adventure involved.
2 - The shark. The sharks in the movie were moving without interrupting anyone. There was one shark fight scene where Shethji(sanjay Dutt) easily catches and sends the shark back(Bravo!). A healthy Bahamas white shark is around 25 feet and that baby was just 5 feet. I did not want to see that.
3 - The treasure. From the begining Shethji refused to go and get the treasure mentioning that many people died in that treasure hunt. I remember a dialogue where Akki tells Zayed that the color of this sea looks blue, but actually it is red. I was eagerly waiting for that treasure hunt.
But what happened? They went inside, found the boat and the treasure in less than 5 minutes without any problem. Imagine what all u could have done to create problems? But there was nothing.
There were fights under the sea. Normally a shark gets attracted and navigates the target with the help of just one tip of blood. Here the blood was spreading like anything and the sharks were not interested at all. they were just giving different poses to the cameramen.
The help from the Hollywood(the action director) really helped. Again I will mention, Lara was really gorgeous.
Akki did his usual acting, Nothing new. Zayed did some splendid bike stunts. Katrina’s role was shorter than a special appearance. Sanjay Dutt was a mismatch for that role. He did a lot better in All the best.
To conclude - Watch the promos instead. Without a proper story, you cannot make a movie. producers, Directors - Atleast learn the lesson now. It is high time to realize this simple thing.
