This service looks very attractive. They claim that no spam can ever enter your email inbox, and that is very true with bluebottle. But it does is:Whenever somebody sends a email to some bluebottle email account, their system immediately sends an email verification request to the sender’s email. If the sender is genuine person(i.e not a spammer), he will respong to that verification request and verify that he had sent the mail and that headers of the mail were not forged(as in spam). As soon as email address of sender is verified, the mail receved in your inbox.
However, if the sender does not verify his email id, then all mail from him is received in a folder called’Pending’, instead of Inbox. So, if somebody you don’t know previously sends you a mail but does not get his email ID verified, the mail wud b lying in pending. THE PROBLEM IS: If you want to integrate this bluebottle email account with some email client like Outlook, Mozilla thunderbird, etc, you can download all messages in Inbox folder but not from Pending folder. This may you may miss an important message. So you have to ultimately use your browser and go to their site and check through webmail.
If you want to view messages in Pending folder using your email client, then you must upgrade from’free’ user to’paid’ user. Paid users are of two types: There is an’Access’ and there is’Premium’ user. Being any of these will allow you to view your pending folder too on email client. Access user is charged around$10(approx 400 Indian Rupees) for a year while premium is charged at Rs.1200 for a year. Of course there are some other features too like increased attachment size, more storage, etc. In my opinion, paying Rs.400/ year for such a service is nothing else but waste of money. What can be done with a effective spam blocker for free, they charge you Rs.400 per year!
