Feeling Blue

If you are twenty-something, you invariably end up in a dingy bar/pub to meet you friends on the weekend, regardless of whether you are a teetotaler or a fan of ales. Blues is just such a bar, located in Cannaught Place(Central Delhi) that is quite full during the happy hours and the weekends.

I cannot stand the fluorescent lights (tube lights) one usually finds in family restaurants and Mickey D’s, and thankfully Blues makes use of soft and dim lights. But then it is real hard to read the menu and you hope you placed your finger on the right drink or hors d’oeuvre.

The music is not bad as they usually play alternative and soft rock, though it is so loud that you can hardly have a conversation. The waiters seem to have learned the art of lip-reading so it all works out for the best. You get to sit in a group yet don’t really have to listen to the crap that your friends insist on discussing after a couple of pints down their throats.

The waiters are dressed in Hawaiian shirts and wear Jeans folded up and bandana or something similar to that on their head. A friend of mine insisted it was a cool outfit though I am not sure if it wasn’t his beer talking!

Now comes the food, I think one would have to be foolish to expect good food at a bar! I have not really tried eating there except for French fries and munchies.

The restroom is quite clean and so is the restaurant or so I think unless the dim lights are to hide the rats running amuck in the bar. (Just kidding!)

Anyway, it is not the best Bar in Delhi or even in CP but it is worth a try. An average place to chill out. And as you can probably tell am quite tired of typing so here it ends.
