Story -
In the film Bluffmaster, Abhishek Bachchan plays the role of a conman. This is the 2nd time Abhishek Bachchan has played the role of a conman after "Bunty aur Babli". The film Bluffmaster, begins with Roy(Abhishek Bachchan), conning Simmy(Priyanka Chopra)s uncle by dressing up as a policeman. Next day, when the people who helped in conning ask for their money, Roy gives a bag full of old newspapers to Omar saying it has the money. Omar, says that Roy can be trusted when his friends were saying that no one can trust Roy. When Omar, openes the bag, he realises that his friends were right and Roy, himself conns Omar by giving him old newspapers instead of money. This, angers Omar and he plans to take revenge with Roy.
Roy, was in love with Simmy(Priyanka Chopra) and they were about to get engaged. Simmy, returns Roys childhood to him by gifting him his photographs when he was a child, but it was too expensive a gift. On the day of Roy and Simmys engagement, Simmys uncle who had been conned by Roy, arrives and tells about Roys reality and the engagement gets broken. Now, Simmy starts to hate Roy and thinks that Roy played with her feelings. However, Roy still happens to be in love with Simmy.
Roy then gets caught with Dittu(Ritesh Deshmukh) in a elevator and the elevator gets stuck. Although Dittu, offers help to Roy by helping him get out but Roy, gets to know Dittus intentions as Dittu, himself was trying to con him. Roy gets out leaving Dittu sandwiched in the elevator. Now, Roy sees Dittu conning Dr. Bhale Rao(Boman Irani) with the help of his friend Jassi by putting tomato sauce over his stomach and saying that he was hit by a bullet. Dittu, runs with Dr.Bhale Raos wrist-watch and wallet. Roy, then helps Dr. Bhale Rao saying that he was not hit by a bullet and saves him. In return, Dr. Bhale Rao gives his card to Roy and says that he can treat him free of cost when required. Roy, then hands over Jassi to the police and gets injured in an accident. However, now Dittu saves Roy and makes Roy his "guru" so that he can himself learn the tricks of conning people from Roy.
Roy, teaches Dittu the art of conning and they con Mr. Malhotra and take away his credit card after getting all the details. Both Roy and Dittu, now go shopping with Mr. Malhotras credit card. There, Roy meets Simmy and tries to talk to her, but Simmy doesnt listen to him anymore. Roy, also meets Omar who gets after him but he gets saved as the guards of the shopping mall stop Omar. On their return, Roy sees a man in a maroon Mercedes and plan to con him becoming a senor income-tax officer and following him to the cinema theater. Roy, gets to know about his address and cons him when he is running away with all the money. Both Roy and Dittu, now go into a bar where Roy drinks excessively and falls down. Dittu, takes Roy to Dr. Bhale Rao after seeing his card in Roys pocket.
Dr. Bhale Rao, examines Roy and says that Roy has brain tumour and he wont live for more than 90 days. Knowing this, Dr. Bhale Rao tries to befriend Roy and gives him inspiration to live every day to the fullest as if it was a whole new life. Roy, tries to tell about his illness to Simmy, but she does not believe him and thinks that Roy is joking. Later on Simmy, herself meets Dr. Bhale Rao and gets to know the truth that Roy, was really ill and does not have too many days to live. Simmy, goes to meet Roy and Roy, tells her that after 7 days he is going on a world tour and Simmy, now wants to spend these 7 days with him. Also, Dittu, cons Roy by running away with his car and then tells Roy about his father who was once conned by Chandrakent Parekh(Chandru)(Nana Patekar) and then his father, became "pagal" and did not recognise Dittu anymore.
Now, Roy remembers Dr.Bhale Raos words saying that everyone can live there life to the fullest if the have a mission in life. Knowing Dittus fathers condition, Roy, makes his 1 mission in life to con Chandru and help Dittus father. Chandru, is a hotel manager and is a type of a character who is almost impossible to be conned. Roy, books a room in Chandrus hotel. Chandru, is a type of man who worships himself by seeing his face in the mirror. Roy and Dittu, then go ahead and con Chandru. Chandru, then kidnaps Simmy and tells Roy to return all the money he got by conning Chandru otherwise he will lose his girlfriend Simmy. The climax of the film is about to take place in the roof-top of a very high building. Roy, returns Chandru his money and then later on, Chandru throws Roy from the top of the building but Roy, luckily gets saved and escapes unhurt. \
Roy, now goes about in search of Dittu after telling him that if Dittu thinks of him as his "guru", then in "guru-dakshina", he should forget to art of conning totally. Roy, then searches for Dittu everywhere. Roy, finally meets Dittu towards the end of the movie and then the movie goes to have a highly unexpected ending.
Performances -
Abhishek Bachchan as Roy - Abhishek Bachchan has now moved out of his fathers shadow and shown that he can finally act. His acting was praised in "Dhoom" and "Bunty aur Babli". And, Abhishek Bachan delivers another good performance here.
Priyanka Chopra as Simmy - Although Priyanka Chopra does not have a big role in the movie, but he is her usual best in acting and delivers another good peformance here.
Ritesh Deshmukh as Dittu - Ritesh Deshmukh, has still to work a bit on his acting and his performance wasnt that good as it could have been.
Boman Irani as Dr.Bhale Rao - Boman Irani, delivers a great performance, both as a Doctor and as a friend to Roy.
Nana Patekar as Chandrakent Parekh - Nana Patekar, threw another amazing peformance and his performance was the best in the movie. Nana Patekar, even took some of the credit away from Abhishek Bachchan. In this film, Nana Patekar has shown that he can do comedy roles equally well as serious roles.
Songs -
The songs of Bluffmaster, have been a huge hit and some songs like "Sabse bada Rupaiya", "Say na", "Right here right now" and "Bure bure" are still topping the charts.
Overall Description -
This is a movie you can watch again and again without feeling bored. It is a comedy movie and can be best watches with friends or family.
