Family Background
His real name was Pankaj Sharma. His father was an English professor and a bank employee. Even as a child, he was an introvert and would only play with girls. He would often apply lipstick and wear saris from his mother’s closet. By the time he reached class 12, he had a serious relationship with a classmate. His parents were alarmed and took him to various specialists including a sexologist and a psychiatrist. His father used to beat him for his sexual preference too.
He was aware that if he did anything to affect his father’s social status, he would kill him. To avoid such a situation, he eloped with his boyfriend just before his exams. They travelled like a happy couple all across the Asia and Europe.
After two years, he got a call from his dad, saying that his mom was unwell and she wanted to see him. Just four days after her demise, his boyfriend called their relationship off saying that he had to fulfil his responsibilities towards his parents.
He headed straight to the bathroom and emptied a bottle of phenyl down his throat. His father saved his life.
Struggling days
Constantly teased by friends in college, he left Delhi, with Rs 8, 000 in his pocket. He decided to move to Mumbai.For 15 days, he lived in railway stations, sleeping on the platforms. People would often taunt him and call him names like ’chakka’, ’hijra’, ’chikna’.
Later, he managed to find a roof over his head and moved to Malad, where he stayed in a house with four girls who used to work in a bar. They informed him that a gay dancer in their bar was earning enough money to sustain himself. Luckily he found employment there.
Bollywood
His first film was Subhash Ghai’s Taal. Later, HE worked with Hrithik Roshan in Na Tum Jano Na Hum and several other films.
Suddenly Things are looking better for him. Now, his father talks to him. He is getting better roles. He has his own aparthimnt in Oshiwara, and has recently bought a car~
