I wasn’t really interested in watching this flick, but seeing as it was coming on telly and I had nothing to do I sat down and watched this flick...and by the end I felt like shooting myself! Why did I even bother watching it I really do not know.
Bollywood Calling is about a Indian producer wanting to make a movie using one of the Hollywood actors who has cancer. The story that the producer is making...its the famous story that we have seen so many time: the two brothers that are separated and then meet up after a long time. Somehow the American actor agrees with taking up the movie as he has no other work and is about to die-so why not? The only disaster being that he has to learn Hindi!
The story goes on, showing how disorganised the producers and actors are and how some actors are all up themselves. Another point that was shown was how all the actresses act all innocent when they are actually two-faced but do know how to have a good time. Eventually in the end the movie is completed after so many disputes and arrangements, and surprising the flick turns out to be a hit-in the producer’s eyes!...though it is very crapy!
Bollywood Calling, to me, is not what everyone was making out of it. I found it VERY slow and VERY boring. The only part of the movie that I liked was Om Puri, he was very good as always and perhaps thats why I actually sat through the whole movie though I could not be bothered to do anything else-but thats not the point!!!!!!!!!!!
Though I must say the movie was telling us lot the actual truth about the Indian film industry and all it’s bad points; so the point of the flick was good. It was good to see a change, but I know that there is room for more improvements; which will make the story’s structure much better. I wonder what Bollywood producers and directors thought about this flick seeing as it is making fun out of them!!!!!!!!!!
