The B.M.C. If there were abuses allowed on this site, trust me, my 100 words would be exhausted. All the bodies running Bombay have looted it beyond belief.
I am 36 years old and I have seen this city die slowly but surely.Sure it has progressed superficially but the insides are hollow!
Let me give it to you in point form or well be here all day and night, I think.
Slums......I love the way they turn a blind eye to the growing slums. At Cuffe Parade, the slums grew in front of a police station! The kids defecate on the streets and driving through the area is an obstacle course.
Roads.....Why on earth would anyone want to give these guys any tax to indulge in Maharashtras favourite hobby of road digging?
Parking and towing....Have you ever met a more diligent bunch. They tow cars from correctly marked areas only because they pocket a cool Rs 100 of your Rs 200 fine. All these pay and park employees chase after the car like mad dogs only to pocket the charges. What happened to Sundays??After 11 pm parking??No time is free time for them. The private contractors have gotten rich sucking our blood!
Stray dogs.... ask my neighbour who was bitten by a dog who was resting under his car
Garbage...It took them more than a year to clean up the mess outside my daughters school.Picture this, human crap, gutter water, banana peels and insects outside my 4 year olds class window.Inhuman!
Malaria.....This has reemerged thanks to the wonderful level of hygiene in this city.Do you know how many people have died needlessly? I have had it twice myself.
Where is clean air, water, shelter and justice in this city??
Where are my rights??
The middle class and upper class have no strength in numbers. The lower classes are just concerned with survival.
What kind of a democracy is this where criminals can stand for elections? No basic education and you want to stand for elections?
At Cuffe Parade, we were only allowed to vote for a scheduled caste woman. This is democratic?
So we leave our fates in the hands of laundrywomen, fisher women?
Good luck to India. This is a lonely battle of mere words.I am probably applying for my Canadian visa to give my family a better life.
For my kids, a life without tuitions and the rat race.A place where they can cycle freely, breathe fresh air and have a safe childhood!
Lord help my hometown....Jaihind!Jai Maharashtra!
