When I was giving thought to rewiew indian police I was sceptical about idea of putting review on police force on product review site.
But when I saw some rewiews I am conviced that the commodification is already been completed of indian police in true sense.
Well where one start putting those fingers when you try to say they are like commodity.
When you see any professional force for social security what you need them to do is
1.honest
2.professional
3.punctual
4.respecting human rights
5.knowedge about the laws and procedure
Even if you ask hundered indians all above qualities if they at any given time seen in police at whatever capacity they delt with will be big NO.
HONESTY-
now what is this?
have you ever seen them in indian police?
its statisticaly difficult to show but atleast 80%of the force is corrupt at all level which is shown by Tihar jail, nasik jail episode.
the reasons may vary from lust to complusions to domestic pressure but the fact remains for common people to deal with.
Professinalism
Well this is not part of indian culture anyway..!!
why the police force is to be exceptional.
How many times you find mumbai or delhi police working professionally.
how many times you see them giving preferred treatment to hot shots?
how many times you see loop holes in FIR which are thrown away in court?
They are ready to bend to pressure of any one.
Punctual
this from last centrury we heard the stories of there punctuality even hindi movies able to make money on there skill with is unprecedented.
They can hardly be punctuaL whenever they needed...infact there are never punctual even in court as well
Respecting human rights
Well they are respected when they are big shots....
otherwise human rights activist also get stick
Knowedege about law and procedure
Well the credit for theis goes to system which can not educate lower level people about the laws and procedureal code of conduct but this make them joke in court.
Well there is light at end of tunnel........But I cant see it as yet....can U?
