Simple thing I advise. Do your homework first.
I have been reading all kinds of reviews and still gave bookadda a chance because the price they quoted was lowest. Service was doubtful but when I ordered, they actually lived upto the promise.
OK people, here is what I suggest. Do your homework first. No use cribbing afterwards.
Do some research on what you are ordering. Have the ISBN, author, publisher, title ready with you.
- Go to amazon.com and read reviews. Have a fair idea on what to expect.
- Get competitive pricing. I am assuming books here. Go to infibeam, flipkart, others and see from where pricing is right.
- Call them up. I strongly advise it. Double check on the availability. This is where most guys fail. Please ensure that they have stock or can arrange and deliver in the promised timeline. Have a general idea on the expected delivery timings.
- If you feel confident, go to the website and order. Generate a order number and keep a note of it.
- Call them up and ensure that your order gets attention. I felt they are very accommodating and will help in case of genuine queries. Phone number is tough to get, but this step is worth the trouble.
- Once goods received at your doorstep ensure you got the correct item and condition is OK. Then pay the courier person.
- Be happy and write reviews. Good / bad whatever and thank them.
I received a book from them within the promised schedule and I am happy about that. 1-2 pages have some dirt on it, but thats OK. Even if I physically go to a bookshop there also these things happen. More of a fault with the printing person rather than bookadda.
For Bookadda.com guys - Thanks for fulfilling my order. Here are a few things I feel can improve your service.
- More phone numbers - 1 phone is not enough. Not in todays world. Have alternate channels like chat available.
- Double check on item condition before you package. Make sure each page is clean, and binding and trimming is perfect.
- Be more forthcoming and ask for reviews. People will provide feedback when asked. Plug the holes and work in the direction of the good points.
