I have been a regular user of bookmyshow.com, using it for booking events or movies tickets. However, never has been my experience on this website been satisfactory. First of all, when you select an event/movie, it takes a lot of time to load the subsequent screens, which allow you to select your seats or make the payment.
They take unreasonable amounts of "convenience charges", often amounting to Rs 30 for a Rs 100 movie ticket. However, when you are taken to the payment page, they try to brighten you up with the numerous offers they present. Buy 1 get 1 free, 25% discount, etc etc. All this for just having a VISA credit card or a vodafone number.
But wait, try applying for one of those discounts. I am always eligible for at least 3-4 of those offers, but never have I been able to avail even one of them, despite having booked tickets on this site for more than 50 times.(Yeah, 50) They always say that the number of people who could avail this discount for this day has expired. Then why the hell are you showing these offers on this page?!
The users’ review section on this website is not often very helpful, although I think that is a very much needed feature on such a website. They should try to do something to integrate this section with other websites, so that they can show what the general public thinks about a particular movie/event.
Overall, I feel this website is running only because of its monopoly in this sector, but will need a major up-hauling of services once they start getting competition.
