Born To Be A Classic

Year 1976

Genre Rock

Evaluation One could write a book on this classic album but I will try to keep this brief. This was Bruce Springsteens breakout album here in the United States. I was sitting at a snack bar in a bowling alley the first time I heard the title track. I was almost knocked out of my seat. I never heard so much energy come out of one song in my life. The song is over 4 minutes but sounds like it’s under 3. From that moment I was a Bruce Springsteen fan. I got the album and listened to the rest of it and was equally knocked to the floor by many of the songs. The best songs on the album besides the title track are ’’Thunder Road’’ and ’’Jungleland’’. These 3 songs alone make this album worth getting. The rest of the album is good but I’d be lying if I said that every song was equal to these 3.

Bottom Line If you like good hard rock that is really different from most hard rock you’ve probably heard, even compared to other Springsteen albums, then this is one album that is a must have. It is definitely in my all time top 10 list
