Total waste of money

Hi all,

When I moved to my new house, I thought of buying a chimney for the first time. I wanted a good product, so after going through different brands, I finalized Bosch Chimney.

Why?

  1. It was auto-clean.

  2. A sales person in Vijay Sales recommended the same to me, although he did not have this brand.

It cost me around 13000. Cheaper options like Prestige were available around 5-6000.

I also purchased an outlet pipe for Rs 500.

The furniture arrangement in the kitchen was such that it was difficult to install an outlet pipe. So the installation guy suggested putting a filter instead. So I had to purchase a filter, and the pipe was now useless.

After installation, the chimney is not doing its job properly. I can sill smell all the fumes of frying. I called up the service center, and they sent a technician.

He tells me that

  1. There is no oil collector. I ask him, how? He started laughing - saying you should know better! As if I sold it in the market.

  2. He says that since I have not installed an outlet pipe, it will not remove the fumes. He says it is only 40% effective in the absence of an outlet. WTF! Why didn’t anyone tell this to me while installing the filter?

  3. He opened the chimney for cleaning. What I see inside? Just two fan like rotators, that s^ck the air and transfer it out. By now I was kicking myself. I paid 13k for two sophisticated exhaust fans!
