We people are subtle to hype of anything but you know in todays time hype plays an important role, a good work also needs to be hyped and publicized well to actually reach masses, then its upto the movie to make it to the top,
Bose is one such movie, one who doesnt know it is not an Shyam Benegal art film it is infact his next step after Zubeida to main line cinema, 35 crore product with high production values and is watchable to for the very fact of good cinema, If you were always curious about SCB then watch this for that, otherwise simply watch it for increasing your history.
Sachin Khedekar plays the lead role and is enacted well, Same goes with small roles played by Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Ila Arun , rest all are just passable.
The movie is told well and comprehensive about what could have happened then and that point of Indias freedom struggle but perhaps being comprehensive is also a negative aspect of this movie. There was imphasis on War Scenes and many other unnecessary things. The movies songs were good but they were scantily spread across the whole movie, I mean if a movie which 3.30 mins without a song it will drag and wont bring relief watching.
I wonder why there were only few watching it in US and I feel the same in India, We people can watch kYa Kool kind of movies but we cannot watch this. Shame on us.
Shyam Benegal is one of the better directors that we have and A.R.Rahman with his music proves that he is the best providing patriotic tunes ahead of any other music director present.
Atlast shame on double standards and perverts who really poke fun of everything, The Dialogue of Tum Mujhe Khoon Do mein tumhe azaadi dunga evoked more laughter then applause by all the Goonda Mawali guys even here , Poor what has happen to us.
I hope this is a good review.
