I wish my teachers were like them

Teachers can make a difference in our life. Alexander the great told that his father has given him birth his teacher (Aristotle) taught him the art of living. In our life the teachers have the most influence in the formation of our outlook. We respect them and we have the feeling that they know everything. In Asian culture teachers are shown a lot of respect by convention. However, when I see Boston public then I realize that our teachers lack a lot of things. The first thing that creates a problem between students and teachers in our South Asian culture is the thing called ’generation gap’. Almost all the teachers forget the fact that they were one time students too and a student does not know everything. actually since student does not know a lot that is why he/she has come to the class to know. And not every one is a super student with A grade in every subject. Unfortunately, I have seen many teachers in my own life who somewhat enjoy humaliating students. When I see Boston Public I only feel jealous for those students in USA who are getting all ther support from their teachers. The thing that impresses me most is that the students are not afraid to challenge any teacher even the principal if they feel they have the right too. I am a liberal teacher but I also have my limitations within the system. I must admit that even at my best day I am no where near to most of the teachers of Boston Public in terms of dedication and professional committment.

I don’t know why any Indian TV channel does not come out with such a great show on campus life. May be the dramatists have the same problem of generation gap with the students. Most of the dramatists while depicting campus life in South Asia focus more on love than the real issues of everyday life of the students.
