Hockey is a popular sport in the Netherlands. The national male and female teams are very succesful. The former star Floris Jan Bovelander was a penalty corner specialist, who played many times in the Dutch national hockey team. In 1996 they won the Olympic Games. Spain was defeated in the finals with 3-1.
Nowadays his active career is over, but Floris Jan Bovelander still is involved in hockey. He gives hockey clinics for young children.
