NORTH INDIAN TREAT!!!

Happiness is when you come back home form hostel on the weekend! But when I came to know that I wont be able to enjoy the ’maa ke haath ka khana’ as she is going to visit a relative, I couldn’t feel happiness anymore. Then an idea clicked me which wasn’t half bad. Why not have a full punjabi style north indian meal form BOX8! Being too bored of having lots of pizzas and other junk food this week, north indian was the perfect choice.

So I gave them a call and withing a period of 30 minutes, warm punjabi food was waiting to be eaten by all of us.

For curries we had AMRITSARI CHOLE, PANEER MAKHNI AND BUTTER CHICKEN. Breads department had LACCHA PARATHA in it, followed by FIRANGI SUBZ BIRYANI and then MOONG DAL HALWA. My little sister insisted to have something with cheese in it, so I treated her with a CHEESEY CHICKEN TREAT SANDWICH.

The curries were absolutely filling. The humble chole had a good twist of spices. Big paneer pieces, along with onions and capsicums floated in a thick gravy made up of all the Indian masalas. Butter chicken had a lot of chicken and a bit less of butter, hence was not sweet enough, but I feel to suit the local taste buds, this amount of sweetness is fair enough. Rolled up in silver foils, the paratha stayed warm for quite long, and they are made of whole wheat and not maida, so its almost like home made rotis.

I felt there was some discrepency with the order, and I was served a paneer biryani instead of the vegetable biryani, that’s the amount of paneer it had, along with olives, mushrooms and baby corn. Basmati rice of superior quality, and chilled curd to mix it with! Yummy!

The sandwich, made up of whole wheat bread and is topped with sesame seeds. The two buns have a real treat between them, which consists of soft chicken chunks, veggies and lots of thick liquid cheese!

The moong dal halwa was YUMMY! At first glance the quantity seems a bit less, but each and every bite is heavy, especially after such a stodgy meal. Its loaded with ghee, and topped with dry fruits! You sure will forget all those brownies and chocolava cakes after having this!

Thank you for BOX8. You, of course, cant compare your food with my mother’s cooking, but your food is delightfully delicious too!

Happy Burping!
