Are ASSEMBLED PCs any good???

If you are a person who thinks spending hours troubleshooting a PC whenever a problem arises is not your cup of tea or if you are not well versed with the workings of a computer and software or if cost is not a problem then, a BRANDED PC is for you.

If you think you are knowledgeable enough to fix PC problems yourself and if cost is an important factor, . then, an ASSEMBLED PC is for you.

If one is working with important data, business oriented work, .etc then, a branded system is advisable. The advantage is that, .whenever you have problems with your Pc, .the warranty and service contracts bind the organization to fix client’s PC problems immediately, . until the duration of the contract.

One cannot expect much or any help regarding after sales service from PC assembling firms.

Branded PC’s offer better trouble free working and peace of mind.

Another aspect for concern is that, .hard disk and RAM prices fluctuate on a day-to-day basis and has to be very carefully analysed.

Assembling a PC is no mean task, .even a grade 8 student with considerable knowledge of PCs can get this done. But purchasing the parts is one where one has to watch out for.

ADVICE FOR PROCURING ASSEMBLED PC:

Always compare prices between shops on the day of purchase for the exactly same configuration. Always take along with you, someone who is well versed in computers.

Always make sure that all the parts are in sealed packets and sealed packets are opened in your presence and insist on assembling the system in your presence.

Putting the parts together takes only less than half an hour. Partitioning the hard disk and loading the Operating System and basic software can take take around 2-3 hours.

Motherboard is an important aspect of the Pc, .so always go for Original motherboard(Intel for pentium processor) or

(ASUS for AMD processors)

The amount of RAM results in the general working speed of your computer besides the processor speed. So, .if you are loading Windows XP operating system then, .minimum 128 MB RAM is necessary, .256MB RAM is recommended.

Also, .there are 3 types of RAM(RDRAM, DDR and SDRAM) RD RAM is the fastest but very expensive. SDRAM is the cheapest and DDR is almost twice as expensive as SDRAM. I personally suggest DDR.

If you have any more clarifications, .
