Coffee on a board game

I have reached that phase in life where I dread Sunday evenings...they forebode the start of a long week. To distract myself we try to go out and do something so that gloom comes at 10 pm in stead of 7 pm!! Thats when we decided to give a small coffee shop a try. Although it is strategically located next to Jyoti Nivas college, this place is kinda cut off from the maddening traffic near Forum. It has the now common interior - yellow lighting for ambience, bean bags and gaddis for sit downs, some sofas and then the regular chairs & tables. What sets this place aside is its unique model of combining coffee with board games.

Barista tried this rather unsuccessfully but the guys here have made it into a workable model. You pay and play or pay and drink or pay, drink & play. they have a nice collection of board games and the guy running this place is more than eager to set you up with a game and explain the rules & stuff. We were a group of 4 and he set us with a number game. We lasted a cup of coffee, a few sandwiches and quite a number of rounds of the game. I am keen to explore the other games at this place. I find it refreshing and different. I am not the one who likes hanging out in the human infested malls and streets of Bangalore and this place gives me something to do with my time. The coffee did leave a lot to be desired - first of all, hot coffee was cold.

When I sent it back, the same cup was reused...I could see a stains of coffee on the outside. One order of Mocha didnt have enough chocolate in it to be called Mocha. The bitings are ok. The pricing high for food which is nothing to rave about. Now let me confess...I am 30 something with a wife and all that middle age baggage. A college hangout is the last place I want to be...it makes me feel, for that lack of a better word, uncomfortable. These college kids have everything I didnt..cool gadgets, swanky clothes, cash and above all else, gals to hang out with. So I feel old, out of place, jealous...whatever you pseudo psychologists might want to call it. So if you are as old as me or older and can free your mind and get a kick not just out of coffee but from those games, Brewhaha is a good place to go. Just make sure you carry your BP medication along just in case you plan to gaze upon the PYTs hanging around you :-)
