BEWARE of Brick and Bolt…its nothing but a scam well disguised to steal your hard earned money, your time, your peace of mind and most important of all …your dream. Don’t fall for the many good reviews posted on their website or elsewhere, Our Refno: CRN150706 . Our Ordeal started in April 2023 through Jan 2024
The initial sales interaction is designed to lock you into this scam. A smooth talker(the perfect sales guy) convinces you of their alleged customer centric process….all fancy adjectives only. They ask you to pay 1L initially(non-refundable) to confirm our commitment.
a. “We are doing a Digital Survey, Floor Plan, 3D Elevation & Soil Test with respect to the booking amount.”
- Once the floor plan is finalized, a quotation value is prepared. They ask you to pay 8% of the project value for the below mentioned 1st phase…
a. Structural Drawings, Joinery schedule, Contractor Assignment, 3D Elevations, Agreement Signing, Crew Mobilization
This phase is the biggest trap….if one looks at the above scope of work, no real work is happening here except for structural drawings and the same 3D elevation repeated.
The cost for all the paper work being done till here does not cost more than 1L if done in isolation, yet they take away sizeable potion in the beginning to safe guard their interests.
The biggest catch is that the contract is the last of all items. Upon understanding the contract’s terms and conditions, one realizes that the ultimate onus lies with only the customer and the contractor(to whom the construction is outsourced to) in case of any issue arising.
The quotation value went up by 6L after it was frozen and tat too after 6 months of discussion. The steel requirement was confirmed with the structural engineer only after the contract was drawn up, which completely went against quotations received. This is where we decided to withdraw.
We got fed up of the never ending follow ups, delays and technical incompetence.
There is no personalized service, a standard floor set of plans is just moved around. Our plan had an overwhelming 21 pillars for a 2400 sq ft area.
Although we were unhappy with their interactions after paying the initial 1L, we had to continue to the next phase else lose the 1L……In hindsight losing 1L would have been better rather than 5L. …. Our demand for a refund was never met with. The emotional trauma and distress caused is phenomenal. A legal suit will soon follow
