Anu Malik is one guy whose interview I will never like to read. He rips music , uses guyz for arrangement and orchestration, all orchestration done by Ranjith Barot and he boasts himself like a AH !!!! On the top of it he stole illayraaja’s song from Devar magan and claimed that that was his best composition !!!! And his attacks on Rehman was no less stupid !!!!
However his tunes are good normally ..I expected an above average album from Anu Malik ..
Esp, his Ashoka , Main Hoon Na were good ...
- Balle Balle ( Sonu Nigam , Gayatri Iyer )
I did expect this to be a techno bangra soemthing teh UK bangras ..Starts witha typical Bangra beats ...sTARTS WITH sONU SINGING A BANGRA AND MELTS SLOWLY INTO A melody ....While I am happy that this song has some indian flavor, on the other hand I feel that a great opportunity for fusion was missed ..Only in the end, ANu malik tries some kind of western classicla harmony , which I feel is not sufficent ...ANyway Good song, though not great !!!!Probably will grow once u start listening 2-3 times ...
2.Tum Se kahen - UDit, ALka
Starts with a beautiful guitar piece with a good voice harmony and proceeds to a typicla hindi orchestral piece ...A typical Anu Malik kind of melody which u might have heard in 90 s ....A nice melody .....Udit has sung beautifully but one might feel that similar kind of expressions you have heard atlest 10 times ...The second interlude has beautiful mix of western vocals and hindustani vocals , ending in a excellent guitar piece ....
3.No Life without Wife - Gayatri Iyer, Soumya Rao
Anu tries a rock and roll song ...similar to the one in the Main Hoon Na ..I feel Gayatri Iyer could have sung with godo stress on words ..probably this song is specifically targetted for NRI guyz ....Enjoyable song ..with good brass harmony ....
4.Payal Bjake ( Gayatri Iyer )
It says this a goa Groove ...The prelude is not that intresting with aguitar piece followed by a techno piece ....Sounds like a seducing piece ..The music eats the words and the top of it Gayatri’s prononnication is again bad ....ok song ......I don’t know where the groove is !!!
5.Lo shaadi AAy - Kunal, Anu Malik
Starts with a BGM of Jame Horner like music ..The music goes from a Techno to a rock and roll -comedy kind of music .....ok kind of song ..
6.Dola DOla -Gayartri Iyer
I don’t know why should the same singer be used ...This is typicla gujarati kind of song ...Good thing is that the traditionality of gujarati music is maintained, but again agreat opportunity for fusion is wasted ....
Anu Malik said that yankees liked this album very much. While they might wonder at something new , once they start listening to some better stuff, I am sure this will go no where ...
Sure , some of the songs are good but not sufficient to indicate that this is a quality composition ....
