One of the few remaining parsi restaurants in Mumbai. I am not talking of the typical “Irani” joints but a true blue full fledged restaurant. Yes the walls are crumbling and the interior is dank. But that’s what makes this place so exciting! Right from the chalk hand written roster to the geriatric owner to the rope hanging at the entrance, everything is vintage about this place. The clientele is also equally interesting, ranging from typical office goers grabbing a quick bite (like me), tourists, giggly college students and old bakwaas.
Must try the chicken cutlet for a quick bite or if you are settling for a full meal, the Dhansak (Mutton/Chicken). The chicken biryani is equally good (coz its made in a unique parsi fashion). But nothing beats the BERRY PULAO! Yes, the best dish available only at this joint. They say the berries are imported directly from Iran for this dish! Its an awesome combo of sweet/tangy berries with fragrant rice and soft mutton. Heavenly and the ultimate vice.
Must try if you are anywhere in town. This place is located in Ballard Estate. Just get in the area and ask anyone, they will direct you to the place!
