I like this category of fruit cakes so I purchase this many times from nearby grocery store or my visit to food shopping malls like D-Mart.
I purchased Britannia Pineapple Plunge Cake from D-Mart in Gandhinagar-Gujarat. Since there were many items purchased by me I only got chance to open it only after 2 days which is sufficient for this product to not degrade it.
But to my surprise, when I opened the item the product was in a very pathetic condition. You can see the image attached.
It was totally fragmented with fungus all over the cake. Immediately clicked picture of it and send it across to customer care to Britannia. They did call me back but asked to give the damaged packet back for a fresh new one. Till that time I had already thrown it in dustbin but still they insisted and finally agreed to provide a fresh one which they did by sending a guy from Ahmedabad.
Flavor: Generally the flavor of this cake is very good. But this one was the one which I haven’t tested.
Packaging: Packaging of the product was normal and usual at the outside nor was it torn out.
I was not happy with their service but was kind of disappointed with their quality check management of the product. This kind of products are consumed by people across all ages especially children who won’t figure out what it actually is if this scenario comes up.
Also the product was not expired. It was well in its best before period.
I think Britannia should think seriously over this.
