Britannica.com is the web-site from the famous series of encyclopaedias on CD but now theve got a website that doesnt cost a penny and it has got lots of new features, these include: A search engine for finding out information. The search engines results are provided in four different columns: The webs best sites, encyclopaedia brittanica, magazines and related products; which between them usally find you what youre looking for, but just in case - at the bottom of the page it also links you to other search engines if you cant find the information you need on brittanica - the others are rarely needed because the results from britannica are always superb, some of the articles also include pictures and animations.
The Homepage provides links to:
-News
-Shopping
-Markets -Weather -E-mail
-Downloads
-Arts & Entertainment
-History & Humanities
-Science & Technology
-World & Travel
-Health
-Education
The sites E-mail facility if you want to use it is very good but its a shame you have to have (username@britannica.com) but its still a valuable accessory. The shopping facility is also good because there are many categories of products to choose from (such as: office supplies & Health and beauty products) it also provides a search for products section, so you can find exactly what you want without any problems.
The download section provides some useful utilities for web addicts. I use this site to find information about my chemistry work and for physics research but I would recommend using this site for people who need to find out information - such as students and researchers, but would be generally usefull for all the family aswell.
