The Non-Sexy Album of Britney Spears

Britney Spears came into the music scene around 1999 and I still remember seeing her first video on television and saying to myself what a horrific and stupid song it was. I thought one hit wonder and that was it. But Britney has become one of the top musicians in terms of sales of cds and concert sales in the world. She was only 17 when she came onto the scene which is pretty damned good.

She created an album that boosted her reputation from being a simple guest on the Mickey Mouse Club and into the music scene, into our cd players and into our memories. I know I will never forget Britney Spears until I die. Im not a huge fan, but I do like some of her music. And I’m not particular sure if it grew on me, or the popularity she received has forced me to like her. I know 50 years from now, I will see Britney Spears as an old hag and remember what she accomplished and be able to tell my grandkids that she was once a fox. My kids will see the hairstyles of the 1990’s in the year 2050 and they will be like ’’Grandpa, GOOD GOD, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!

The Album - Baby Hit Me One More Time

I will only talk about the songs that did make the music charts and did excel.

Baby One More Time - This was the very first single that Britney Spears opened her career with. It was very slow paced and sort of a love song. Whether its intention was to be sexy, that only is determined by the listener.

Crazy - Crazy is a more livelier song to the listener. It has a fast paced beat that is danceable and has some awesome background beats. One of my favorites on the album.

Sometimes - This is a love song that is very relaxing to listen to. With Britney’s voice your body is so soothed and is a great song to listen to while you are with your partner .... except for the part in the song where she snaps and hits an annoying high pitched tone.

Soda Pop - One of the stupidest and most annoying songs ever to be created. It features a reggae man in the back who repeats the chorus. This song is totally unparallel to Britney’s style of music. If the intent was a fun song, it might have been fun for her, not the listener.

From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart - This was the second coming of Sometimes. Its another love song that basically sounds like some sort of church anthem. The title is idiotic, its overdone ..... she could have just called it Love and figured no one had used it.

Email My Heart - I don’t understand what the point was with this email thing. Figuring that AOL is one of the crappiest servers out in the ISP world, to email Britney’s heart would mean that the email would arrive in about 3 weeks. A stupid title for a bad song.

Beat Goes On - Add a remix of a song so we can get more money for the album. I hate remixes of songs unless they are slow songs that are turned into hard house music added. This song simply slows down the beat and is simply Britney’s voice. No specials or anything.

Final Thoughts

If I’m forced to rate the album, I would have to give it a 9 for the pop genre and in the general music category an 8. Britney and her producing company really outdid themselves and produced a fine album that is great for people of all ages.
