Jim Carrey stars as Bruce Nolan in this film about a guy who has had it with life. He loses out on a promotion he had his heart set on and goes a bit crazy.... his day goes from bad to worse. He smashed his car and begins to yell out to God. God (Morgan Freeman) hears his complaining and decides to let Bruce take over as God...to see if he can do a better job. Jennifer Aniston plays Bruce’s live-in girlfriend, who has a bit of low self esteem. She plays very well off of Carrey and makes her role believable. (You really believe she cares deeply for him). Carrey (Bruce) uses his divine powers for simple pleasures without realizing the consequences. He ropes in the moon and brings it closer to his balcony for a more romantic setting. However, he doesn’t realize that this causes mass flooding in other parts of the world. Morgan Freeman plays a wonderful, understanding God and I think his performance really adds to the success of this film. The cutest subject that runs through the movie is Bruce’s use of power to potty train his dog. I don’t want to say too much more and spoil some of this movie. As a COMEDY, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this film. I think you will LAUGH A LOT!
