I have been with BSNL broadband for just over two years. They are better than Tata Docomo but they are not great either.
Speed is a problem on most days. I have a plan that says "up to 8Mb/ps". I have never gotten even close to that speed. Im getting somewhere around 2Mb/ps, sometimes more, often less. For 1700Rs/month that is poor. I get free calls with this plan on my BSNL landline though, so thats a plus.
One thing I noticed is that BSNL seems to have trouble connecting to foreign websites. I get a "Page not Found" error and have to refresh the page at least 3-4 times before a connection is established.
The reliability of the connection isnt very good either. It is down at least twice a week but thankfully never for long, 1 or 2 hours at the most, often its back quicker than that also.
I like that I can call CC and just have to type in my own number on the phone and a complaint is automatically registered without having to talk to anybody. This saves time. Usually within one day the problem I had is then resolved. When necessary I can also choose the option to talk to someone but I have only used it once or twice when the connection did not come back after a few hours.
From what I heard from friends BSNL seems to be the best of a bad lot of ISPs India is struggling with.
