It has been more than a decade since BSNL launched its Broadband services and the quality of its performance and support has varied throughout the years. When there is a steady internet connection, things work very smoothly and for the price BSNL provides decent speeds. However all too often BSNL disconnects the users internet connection for a couple of days, sometimes more than a week for obscure reasons. During these times it is quite obvious that BSNLs Broadband service is far from ideal and its employees take their jobs very lightly. Also the slightest disturbance in weather conditions seems to affect the internet connection though I am not sure why. There are many positive points to their internet service on the other hand. They provide unlimited bandwidth at very reasonable prices and also allow the user to top-up their speed for a limited amount of data transfer which makes it easy for the user to get a boost in speed as and when they want. Also in some parts of the country, BSNL is the only decent ISP so for most people it is the only choice they have. One important thing that I would like to point out is that BSNL send me the bill for my connection too late every month and then cut my internet claiming that I was too late to pay. They are in effect blaming me for their incompetence. This has happened so many times that its ludicrous. Although I have pointed out many benefits, it is this lack of professionalism that makes it impossible for me to give BSNL a good word. For anyone who has multiple choices of ISPs I would recommend some other well-know company with more professionalism.
