I am using BSNL DataOne Broadband connection for last 2 years and my plan is Home Unlimited Plus. I had been a very happy and satisfied customer till december 2007. The speed was awsome, there was no connection drops, and technical support - I never needed that.
The main cable was along with the main road to Shamshabad Airport and the cable was cut 2 times during road broadening process. After that my BSNL connection started actingt funny.
Frequent connection drops.
There will not be dial tone in the phone but broadband will work(with drops).
Sometimes I get the dialtone in phone if there is any incoming call, but stays for maximum 2 minuts.
Their IVR doesnt have records my user information anymore.
Many more.
Technical support doesnt exist in BSNLs vocabulary. I never needed that before as there was no line issue before and I am well versed with CPE issues. Now I am helpless because of line and ISP issues. The JTO of Rajendranagar Exchange made several visits to my house, building and the area but for more than 6 months they are unable to resolve the issue. I even spoke to almost all the officers in Charminar Exchange, but they have only one excuse "because of the road digging, cable were cut" and they do know how to address the problem.
I am glad that BSNL had asked me to buy my own CPE and I would reccoment to all who opt for BSNL broadband "Go for own CPE, do not buy from BSNL"
Hence, BSNL is good as long it is good. Once it goes bad, even God doesnt know how to solve.
