The movie for a change touches upon a subject not far touched by many films - about oppressed tribal and Naxalite issues, however it does not reach the heights for audience to really applaud the efforts.
The name of the films is amusing too - which would leave you with a suspense as what to expect in a film with such non-revealing name. There is neither Buddha nor the grace of the latest filmTraffic in this movie.
The movie is believed to be an autobiographical film based on its writer & director Vivek Agnihotris life. Same - Vivek Agnihotri who made some senseless films like Chocolate, Hate-story earlier so there wasnt much to expect here, anyway.
The film is made of some chapters, the first one which opens in some 2000 BC, where a tribal is cutting down a tree and moves to 2014 where again he is doing the same, the difference being - this time he is caught in a fight between Govt and Naxalites.
Arunoday plays a management student, most film which is shot at ISB, Hyderabad. He becomes famous after he runs a campaign against moral policing. Films takes inspiration from Pink Chaddi campaign, against moral policing that happened in India(in the film it is referred to asPink Bra campaign). Soon he gets trapped into controversial subject of Socialism vs Capitalism in India.
All characters - Mahie Gill, Arunoday Singh, Pallavi Joshi - are so-so barring an exception - a role by Anupam Kher who plays a charismatic professor at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
The film was made some 2 years back and has won some awards too, however does not look convincing enough and hence commercial success is doubtful. It looks to be a film with a propaganda - which does not really bend you to agree on it.
