Please note that this review is only based on my experience as a Vegetarian. I did not even glance at the non-veg menu so have no clue about it. Let me start by giving a few details about what Bukhara is about:
The Veg menu looks like this:
Tandoori Aaloo
Tandoori Shimla Mirch
Tandoori Paneer Tikka
Tandoori Gobhi
There was one more Tandoori something...I cant recall
Each of the above costs Rs. 1350 (Excluding taxes). CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?????
The main course menu is as follows:
- Dal Bukhara - Rs. 525
Yes..THATs IT!!!!. Thats all that is available as your main course, apart from choice of Bread like naan, roti etc...each of which costs 200 bucks. The serving of Dal is so little that we had to order three dals in 4 people. There are no rice dishes available ( No steamed rice, No Pulav...No Biryani). We told the staff that there were 2 kids with us who ate nothing but rice, but were told .."Sorry Sir..we cannot get you rice."
The over hyped dal bukhara is a major disappointment and trust me....even my Mom makes better dal than that. They do not provide any cutlery...even serving spoons...to give you a feel of Indian Tradition....but what is ironical is....if you are not a foreigner...it shows crystal clearly on the staffs face that you are not welcome.
The ambiance is average and the seating extremely uncomfortable. I just fail to understand why Bukhara is SO popular that even Hilary Clinton was taken there. Please do not waste your time and money on it....there are far better eating places in Delhi for you to go to.
