Hi,
This is my first review on mouthshut and that too about my Bull!
Let me take you back to my younger days, when I was about 11 years old...
Dad was in Indian ARMY and were posted in Assam.
Everyday I used to follow at the green colored army bullets passing by, while playing cricket on the army grounds. I could not resist having a glimpse of it whenver, that dug dug sound gets on my ears. The well built, strong, tall army men riding on the heavy machine...
Days passed by and dad got transferred to Kota (Raj). I was 13/14 years old by that time. There one day I went to Dads office, and as always I started playing around in the office, not caring about the strict army rules. Then one official came in the green colored enfield, parked it and went off to some work...
And that was the opportunity I was looking for, I jumped on to it and started playing around with gears, clutch, brake and the kick, pretending to be a smart guy! while playing around, my eyes got stuck on the shiny silver silencer. And the heat getting radiated from the hot machine, and finally it happened. While playing my right leg just kissed the upper part of the silencer and there u go! my socks melted down and the same happened with my skin. A sharp skin burn!!! that wound took months to get cured up. That was the time that I decided that this is the bike for me and no other bike can match up to it.
And the years passed on, the craze for the bull kept on increasing...and finally on 4, oct 2005 (My birthday, this was preplanned :-) ), I got the brand new Machismo.
the Heavy 350 cc, silver shiny, disc brakes (self start is still not launched) from a royal enfield dealer in Bangalore. Buying a new bullet is heavy on pocket. Whatever I had saved for long time just went in a shot!! but its worth it.
Within a week of having it, I named it Bull!!! true to its name.
Well if u tell me I will go on like this....So lets start with the review :)
what I like in this vehicle:
1. Power!
2. Looks to kill.
3. comfort drive.
4. newly added disk brakes, really works well. But should be used carefully.
5. The new AVL engine, fuel efficient 40-45km/l. But that doesnt really matters much.
6. Cool silver shiny look with black body.
7. good front shock absorbers.
8. smooth kick.
9. STRONG body.
10. Acceleration. Too good.
11.Max speed 120 kmph. (But I havnt crossed 100 yet, that too when I went in for a long drive with my friends :(. Otherwise in bangalore traffic and road a steady speed of 40 is also not possible ).
12. Heavy load capacity. (I am 76kg and my friend 90 kgs, still feels like it can take more without any load)
13. Excellent for long rides. (no back pain at all)
There are lots more...but a few -ve points are also there:
1. Gears are not smooth. Well I guess this is the problem with all the bullets.
2. Some oil leakage, but its ok..just clean it up and its fine.
3. rear shockups generally takes some time to smoothen up.
4. very delicate rear light cover, indicator and the number plate. (A small push and its gone. I had to get new indicator and rear lights).
5. Sound. Cant get that dug dug sound. But its ok. I am happy with it.
These all are very negligible as compared to the +ve points it has, and can be dealt with.
If u have a bullet, deal it with patience, care and love and u will get maximum results. :)
One more thing, I had done my first servicing at the ex-showroom (Agro motors, mission road, bangalore). and it was a bad experience. Then I came to know about authorised service centre of Bullet in bangalore (mehboob bullet garage, nandi durga road, bangalore. address mentioned in the bullet website also), gave it for servicing and from that time its riding like butter.
I am a happy customer of Bullet. Will update u in future about more findings....
Happy bulleting,
Avinash
