Thunderbird... hmmm where should I start from..
Well lemme start with my dream ..
When I was in 8th standard, I always wished for having a bullet for myself...I used to see all tuff guyz crusing on BULLET ELECTRA. I was the biggest fan of the "thud thud" sound that a bullet makes while moving on wheels.
Anyways I grew up, my father bought me a TVS Victor..and I was really upset ..Anyhow I rode it for arround 3 years.I spent my school (10th) and my pre-university life on it...I still had a dream of owning a bullet.
Now 3 years later , when I got a free seat in enggineering I asked my father for THUNDERBIRD as a gift..
At first, he did not agree. and compelled me to go for strikes and protests...Meanwhile my parents insisted for other bikes....They gave me a lot of options....They wanted me to select a bike between Karizma, Unicorn and Pulsar220..But I being a Bullet lover did not accept any of their offers , instead gave them the choice between ELECTRA , MACHISMO and THUNDERBIRD .
Well after loads of arguments , my parents decided to get the mighty bull, thunderbird for me...
On 31st of december 2007, It was my 1st semister exams, I was in examination hall, giving my mathematics-1 paper, when my father paid the amount for thunderbird in banglore showroom.I got my bike after 5 days of payement on 4th of jan.....
Man believe me.... I was sooo happy with the bike, that I forgot my exams and started crusing on it. I took it to my friends place , took it arround the city....took it on the streets..Man ..! seriously it was too hard to come back to studies and concentrate on it...Hardly could take out the nights for studies..anyways exams were fine..and hope I dont fail in any of my sujects..
Now that my exams are over, I have got all the freedom.I spend maximum time with my bike, riding it...washing it.wipping out the dust... oilling it ...waxing it.... mannn ! I tell u , I m really in love with it.
Whenever I m on road or off road people give me a second look...and thats for sure..People keep on asking me about the bike, about its price , its mileage bla bla bla. I feel great answering them...
Actually I live in a small town , Gulbarga.here u wont find trendy bikes.all u find is splendours and pa**ions here.. we have only 4 -5 thunderbirds out here , and I feel great being one among them...
Well about the bike, What I can say is. The riding feel is awesome..The sitting posture is fine.u wont have any backache.And believe me..u really feel as THE KING while ridding on it.
The only problem it has is with the leakage of oil and gear slip..but I think its not the major problem..u need to get a trick for shifting the gears , thats it.
The other drawback is with its sound it does not have the original bullet sound.slightly less than it... but when compared with other bikes , it is awesome.
But believe me, it has positive points more than its Drawbacks. It grooms ur prestige, it gives u an only pleasure , attracts many eyes....and many more to state.
This bike is ment for all those dudes who can really take a good care of it who can spent alot on it....and for those who have good height and built.
seriously it needs a lot of care Maintaining a BULLET is like maintaining a girlfriend U WILL NEVER REGRET AFTER TAKING IT....BELIEVE ME....!
Here after writing the review , I got a comment .. comment says that I should mention price and all the stuffs related to the bike....
OKAY fine Now here it is....
cost of the bike... 1, 03, 000 to 1, 04, 000 on road..
....I rode for around 2000 kms till now after purchasing it.....
Problems with the bike.... (DEMERITS)
1) Sound of the bike doesn’t satisfy you. You cant get the feeling of riding a Bullet on it.
2) Oil leakage problem. I had this problem from the day one.And it looks awefull for a new customer to see his bike leaking. It was to me as if my bike was bleeding.
Anyways now after my 1st free service , I got this problem done. now I see no leakage.... happy me....
It used to leak from the crankcase.The serviceman in the company workshop said that it was deu to the rubber packing which was not installed correctly when manufacturing.
3)The bike gets heated up soon... Keep the bike away from children....its too dangerous
4)Gears slips a lot.this is manufacturing defect and we cant do anything.... Actually there is a trick for changing gears in thunderbird, which u will come to know after some time of riding...
5)Parking problem...the most worst u can say.. u cant fit ur bike on every small places you see . For parking it requirs large space.
6)U will get bugged off with people on the signals, when they keep asking u the price and the mileage of the bike...
7)You cant ride the bike safely wearing bell bottom pant... the pants stucks on the footrest, and there is of possibility of tripping down. So beware ..
8) Back seat is irresistible...Its is so small and hard.it is not advised to ride with person having fat a**...
MERITS OF THE BIKE
1)The riding feel is awesome.. u cant feel this kinda ride in any other bike.
2) U get a 2nd look while riding on roads....u feel great
3) U feel great when ur friends ask u bike for having a test ride and u dont give them..
4) For a student it is a unique bike to park it on bike stand in the college... seriously u get the name in ur college..u will b the center of attraction for all chicks in ur college..
5)front seat comfort s just great. the handling is also smooth . u wont feel as if riding a 200 kg bike....Pick is really awesome...
