Good bike on Indian Road

As far as I remember I always wanted to ride a bullet. That time did not aware what’s differnce between the various models of Bullet, probably I was liking the Thumping sound that time(almost 15-20 years back) when I was in school.

I got a job purchased different bikes and cars but never bought a Bullet as my family had a negative feelings towards it. Why negative, well it’s heavy, sounds(thumping) crazy and mostly in our native place the bullet owners were either contractors, goons or small time politicians.

Anyway relocated to Banglaore couple of months before. I have a baleno now, and it’s difficult to drive in this crazy city with hell traffic. So I got an execuse to purchase a two wheeler and this time definitely a bullet, even my first priority was to buy a house. My wife and I had lot of discussions whether to buy bullet or not, as I had already spent lot of money in purchasing the cars and bikes previuosly and don’t have enough savings now for down payment of house. I told her property value will go down after few months or year and i’ll wait for buying house till that time.

This way I convinced her.I had in my mind to buy a 500 machismo, but my wife said she is comfortable in a cruiser as I rode them before in an enticer, so zeroed in on thunderbird.

Now come to the point. Went to Jayngar showroom and handed over all the docs and Check and booked a black TB. They told me it’ll take 1 week to deliver and after 6 days they called me and delivered the bike.

The riding was quite smoooth and I was used to bullet riding within 2-3 days.

Let’s discuss the bad things about this Bike after a month of riding

It fell down twice when I kept it on side stand and I need to replace the foot rest(cost 150 bucks approx)

There was sound from the front wheel, I took my bike to the service station 3 times and always after few KMs riding this problem reappear.

So this time took for 1st service and told them these problems to be fixed.

  1. Sound from front wheel, which happened to be brake problem)

  2. The Brake was not working properly and I had to use front brakes most of the time.

They said after service it’s fine now and I feel it’s OK lets’ C.

  1. Indicator not working

The electrical connection was disconnected. It’s Ok Now

  1. Silencer change for getting the thumping sound.

Changed it and now gets good thumping sound and now it seems like a complete bullet.

5.Fuel gauge not working properly.

Service guy told me almost 75% of tank is full and that’s why it’s showing full. Lat’s c how it works when the petrol level comes to reserve.

  1. polishing

Total service cost almost 1700 bucks

950(silencer)

350(polishing)

450(oil change)

Good about this bike

  1. smooth ride.

  2. Gets way in traffic, if somebody try to overtake just roar the engine it’s enough to get your own way.

  3. Like the heaviness of the bike, though it’s not as heavy as I was thinking before purchasing this.

  4. Looks wise overall good

  5. Never saw any royal enfield add on TV on any where else, where there are tons of other bike adds, but still this bike exists since last 50 years on indian road. Is not it a indicator there is something in this bike.

Since I did nit ride it for a long time I do not have much experience, i’ll update this section after one long ride which i’m planning in feb.
