Thats what the movie is all about -- Conning to become a crorepati!!
Rakesh and Vimmy - typical names found in typical UP/Punjab villages, but our Rakesh/Vimmy arent the typical village lads!
They want to be different and want reams of pages written about them..
To them, Normal is boring and Boring CANNOT be Normal!!
For Rakesh (portrayed as a typical UP ’bhaiyyaji’), life isn’t the usual stuff -- it meant more adventure, more money and of course a bigger city (than Fursatganj -- jahaan har koi fursat mein rahta hai!) -- compares himself to ambanis and tatas of the world..
And Bubbly, aka Vimmy is not your usual village girl who craves for marriage/kids/loves baking pinnis (laddus).
She is a lot more ambitious, wants to be a model (have got Naomi’s pics in her room)..wants to participate in Miss India contest, make lotsa money!!
In short, Fame is the name of Bunty/Bubbl’s game..!!
Both of them run away from their village, land up in Lucknow, try their Luck, get cheated and realize the dark side of society (cheating, fareb etc..)..and of course fall in love..
The seedha-saada duo wanted to give back to the world what they received from duniya!!..-- i.e. cheat everybody who comes their way..
The duo gets famous, earns mini celebrity status in local newspapers, but as fate would have it --- get noticed by police, oops..Dashrath singh, the BIG B. (who is wearing the same Black leather jacket in 90% of the scenes!! -- I guess its the same jacket which salman wore in ’Maine pyar kiya’ ;)..)
BIG B is as usual great and its fun to watch him in the cop role..esp the ’’item number’’
with B junior and Aish.
Rani -- rules!..She has proved time and again that she can be as versatile as the deaf/blind girl in ’Black’ to the con girl in BB
Abhishek -- has arrived..!! time for him to rock the Bollywood, but he still needs to work on emoting in front of camera. I am eagerly waiting for his next movie, DUS!
Big B - No comments. - He has the presence and nobody compares to him..
Story -- Truly speaking, there is none..!
Music --I really liked the ’’Kajra re Kajra re’’ -- for the deadly combination of Bs and Aish. The background audio is good and genuinely fits the ’con’ mood..
My Comments ::
Few of the cons are predictable; but few not -- but still there is an element of unpredictability and fun..
I loved the movie for its rustic demeanour, colorful sets, spontaneity and of course its fun to see the senior and junior B share screen --
My Advice:
The movie isnt for logical/analytical brains. Keep your thinking hat off -- if you are viewing the film to judge the sanity of story, SKIP!! WATCH ’JASSI’ ;)
The story isnt all that great, but acting definitely is.
Its fun to watch Big and Junior B and of course the bubbly Rani!.
Definitely a Paisa Vasool!!
To sum up::
Yeh world hai na world, ismen do tarah ke log hote hai
Ek jo saari jindagi ek hi kaam karte rahte hain, aur doosre jo ek hi jindagi mein saare kaam karte hain
Yeh main nahin kahta-- yeh woh dono kahte the!!
Aur kahte kya the, karte bhi the -- Aur aisa karte the, jaisa na kisi ne kiya aur shaayad na kar paaye
