Is Burger King Really King???

Here in the US, Burger King restaurants are on every street corner. They are literally, a dime a dozen. Then again, what fast food restaurant isn’t nowdays?? Burger King, with it’s flashy neon signs, and catchy commercials, attracts crowds by the masses. But is it really worth it?

Burger King has been around for well over 20 years now. I remember going to a local BK a few times as a child and promptly becoming ill after each visit! Oh yes, the King was really a wimpering jester back then. With it’s only competition being McDonald’s, their really was no competition.

Fast foward 20 years to the present. Burger King has gone through a renaisance of sorts. With a major redecorating of all of their stores, to a revamping of their menu, BK has actually become a force to be reckon with. I myself had to see what all the hype was about. Putting my childhood fears aside, I visited my local BK about a year ago. To say that I was surprised is an understatement!

For a very busy Satuday afternoon, the store was quite clean. A friendly cashier promptly took my order. Within 3 minutes I was sitting at a table, enjoying my meal. A Whopper extra value meal will set you back about $4.00US, and you will not be dissapointed! A large flame broiled beef patty, topped with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, ketchup, and mayo is a coronary waiting to happen, but so worth it! Add the battered dipped, extra crispy french fries, along with your favorite soda, and you have a meal fit for a king (no pun intended!)!

Burger King’s menu has grown extensively over the years. With three different size burgers, (junior, regular, and double)numerous different types of chicken sandwiches, and a wide range of side items (french fries, onion rings, mozzerella sticks, and jalepeno poppers to name a few), BK has something for everyone......almost!

Burger King is a nightmare for a vegatarian. Their one fish item, a poor imitation of McDonald’s Filet O Fish, is just a greasy. They do offer a choice of salads. In my opinion though, they are overpriced, and not very good. Burger King is also horrible for someone watching their weight. The health conscious should stay away at all costs!

All in all, I do recommend Burger King. Their food is tasty, and a fair deal. That, along with a well run establishment, is all I can ask for.
