There are two things that I value about this book:
The insights it provides into how technology in general, and IT infrastructure in particular can be used to upgrade business processes and make them for efficient.
The insights it provides into the mind of Bill Gates as a business strategist.
The tech insights are invaluable for corporate leaders who have to address IT issues as a tool for becoming more efficient and more competitive. The chapter on the Digital Nervous System concept is fascinating. Even if you don’t have an IT focus, this book will change the way you look at your processes and systems.
But the really exciting part of the book is what it tells you about the mind and ideas of Bill Gates. You realise what an amazing trend-spotter he is, and if you are one of those who have grudged him his immense success, you will probably realise (like I did) that he deserves every bit of that success. He may be a high school drop-out, but his mind, his intellectual is as sharp as a razor.
All in all, every thinking person in business or corporate spheres should read this book since it has the power to dramatically alter the way you look at businesses, business process and day-to-day business activity.
