What's Hot

WHAT’S HOT: Who would have thought it could happen-a Pocket PC that actually fits comfortably in your pocket. Toshiba’s inexpensive E310 weighs less than 5 ounces and measures just under a half-inch thick, making it the sleekest, most stylish Pocket PC to date. And its$399 price tag belies its generous package of hardware and software features. A crisp, bright, high-resolution 65, 536-color reflective display offers easy readability indoors and out. The great screen is particularly good when you’re using the included Pocket Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, or any of several bundled games.

WHAT’S NOT: The E310 comes with just 32MB of memory. While that gets you by for basic functions, it is obviously not enough for any sort of lengthy multimedia storage. Battery life also seems to have taken a hit as a result of the small size, getting about 5 to 7 hours between charges.

WHAT ELSE: An included headphone port on the top of the unit means you can use the E310 as a digital music(MP3, WMA) and video player as well. The Secure Digital card slot allows you to add data storage and lets you transfer files and apps easily; you can also have wireless connectivity with a WiFi or Bluetooth card.

UPSHOT: While you may have to top the battery off more often than you would with other Pocket PC devices, the convenience of the E310’s size and weight more than compensates. The least-expensive, lightest Pocket PC out there is ideal for anyone who wants the power of a Pocket PC device without the bulk.
