Hi-end Document Scanners

A brief on Hi-end Scanners - 1. Hi -end scanners have ADF(automatic document feeder), a range of 50 to 1000 documents can be fed at a time just as loose paper is fed in laser printers.  2. Speed of the scanners ranges from 25ppm to 120 ppm, that means120pages could be scanned in 1 min time. 3. Most of the scanners are duplex- once a page pass through the ADF both side of the page is scanned at once, so a 25 ppm duplex scanner  gives an output of 50 pages per min. 4. Speed is normally mentioned at 200dpi, if the resolution is decreased the speed will increase and the quality of scan will decrease, But practically we have seen that 150dpi is enough for document scanning. 5. All scanners support colour/grayscale/BW. 6. The interface will be USB or SCSI or both. 7. A scanner may have only ADF unit or ADF+Flatbed. 8. All scanners are TWAIN driver compatible and thus supports a variety of ready made softwares such as MS-Office and it can be easily integrated with customized software because of the TWAIN compatibility. 9. A scanner is chosen on the basis of DutyCycle, a scanner with 1000page Dutycycle means the manufacturer recommends that in one day maximum of 1000 pages may be scanned, we have a variety of scanners starting from 1000 to 1 Lakh dutycycle.10. The Maximum Paper size could be A4 to A3 and the minimum could be as small as a visiting Card.(fijutsu Scanners are Japanese made and are considered the best among all)
