I purchased a Maruti 800 5 speed MPFI - year 2001 model from First Choice(previously automart india), located in Basavanagudi, Bangalore. Its located in South end circle. I bought this second hand car from them in the year 2005 for 1.55 lakh. I knew that at that time I had payed a little extra more, but since automart was known for professional used car sellers I trusted them and made this decision. The car is still with me and is a good car, gives me astonishingly good mileage of 20 kmpl for daily driving in bangalore, I stay in Marathalli and I drive to office daily. Everything about the car is good and am happy about it.
Last week I came to know that 2 Zen Lxi models, good ones are available for sale at FirstChoice, Koramangala, Bangalore showroom. Since I had purchased my car from them I wanted to checkout the price, my maruti would fetch me and think of exchanging this for zen. I went to firstchoice and had the car checked by those guys. I was shocked to hear from them that they cant take the car because the car had an accident history and that the left door of the car had been replaced before.
I was shocked to hear this because this was not told to me earlier by guys in FirstChoice when it was sold to me. Eventhough the car is good this information was hidden cleaverly by those guys. The excuse given to me was that the Basavangudi office is a franchise of Firstchoice and not a branch. So does itmean that a franchise office can skip the protocols adopted by the mother company. I dont understand. Ididnt expect this to happen from a company that claims to be professional.
I spoke with the people and found that the guy who had inspected the vehicle was new and had missed the accident detail on the vehicle which I had purchased from them . Infact AutomartIndia(FirstChoice) themselves bought my vehicle for a reasonable price. I found some good things in them. The cheque payment and other transfer formalities are done by them currently. Good buy back value.
