Recently, Byjus held a aptitude test in my sons school and gave all the kids a 30 days "free subscription" for their learning app. We downloaded it and was unable to find anything related to my sons curriculum. If we need to access the contents that is actually useful to us, we have to pay for subscription. I couldnt find solution to a simple math problem which i could easily get by Googling. A couple of weeks after the test, an executive from Byjus called saying that my kid has been selected among 20 other kids who had done good in the test they conducted and a representative will visit our house to meet the kid and parents to test our sons ability & studying method by conducting another 15 minute test. Then they would decide on where my kid needs help to improve. It was outrageous. Who the hell are they to judge my kid? If he had "done well" in the aptitude test, why the heck does he need "help"? Shouldnt they be concentrating on kids who scored low marks and help them out? But then I found out that all the kids parents had received the same type of call that i received. It is just a ruse to make you pay thousands of rupees for their so called services. The sad part is some people actually fall for it and lose money for this useless app.
