I love chocolate.........

What do you do when you are stuck at home and its pouring outside?....when you have so many potholes on the road to the nearest cafe that not only will you be drenched and splashed with something chocolate coloured but you would end up splurging a lot on both the hot chocolate as well as the medicines and detergents thereafter.

No..noo..... we wouldn’t have to do that. For all the Dairy Milk freaks, introducing the smoothiest, the most chocolatey drink- Cadbury’s Drinking Chocolate. In fact, I wouldn’t want to call it just a drink because there is a lot more you could do with this product besides drinking it according to instructions. In fact if you look at what all you can do with this pack, you would consider it an essential item in your kitchen.

I have tried almost all chocolate flavoured nutritional drinks but this one scores over others in terms of-

Taste- Its better than Bournvita becasue it doesn’t have malt and is a lot smoother.Complan is definitely not the kind of drink you want to have just like that unless you are asked to gulp it down after a long convalescence. Its meant for recovery and not for enjoyment!!At the same time, Cocoa from Cadbury’s is meant for flavouring and one needs to add sugar to it so I prefer to use that for icings on pastries but not as drink.

Price- Well one product which comes close to CDC but is a distant second is NesQuik from Nestle and since its pretty expensive(Rs.135/- for 250 gms pack), I don’t like it.

Quantity: available in 250 gms and 500 gms pack. As it is, its prone to spoilage in the rainy season despite all assurances on the contrary, given in terms of the expiry date.So I prefer buying a 250 gms bottle.

Consistency and taste : Its a very smooth chocolate powder( it melts in your mouth the moment you have it!!)It tastes exactly like Cadbury’s Dairy Milk though I find this a little less sweet so it makes a perfect drink when you mix it with milk or water(though for obvious reasons, it tastes better with milk).

Some easy2make recipes : No prizes for guessing the easiest one-you could have it with hot or chilled milk. You could also mix it with warm water and have it as a chocolate sauce over wafers or marie biscuits. In fact you could freeze a couple of layers of marie biscuits and this sauce and voila you have a dessert for dinner. You can also add a bit of this in your usual coffee and you have chococino ready.

................Or if you are an absolute chocolate freak (evidently-I am!!), you could have a cuppa hot chocolate and a little of Nutella(Its a chocolate spread....) spread over a slice of bread. Yes I know I know I have cavities and have had root canal treatment too.LOL!! Please don’t forget to RRC my review and suggest me a few more recipes if you can.
