Amethyst (don’t know if I spelt it wrong!) is this coffee pub in Chennai where most people hang out during weekends.. The ambience was good and today was my first visit to the place. This place made you feel really comfortable and was very different from the regular Coffee Days of Chennai! I was quite happy till the time I got out and stood near the parking area to say good bye to my friends and just happened to stay there a li’l longer when ’’ The Watchman’’ ( there came the tough guy) walks up to us and says in Tamil - ’’Mudichhache iliyaa ippo kalambe’’ ( you are done right now get goin!!!!!) all the nice feeling that I had just seemed to vanish in a second and here I was raving mad at the watchman for having used that tone!
To top this when my friend went up to him and said you dare not use that tone to us the guy points his finger at him asking so what..... then the manager comes out to apologize (no note of apology in his tone). We did get out of the place at last. But this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and I don’t think I would want to go there again.
