Being an ardent reader and a coffee addict I used to crave for a place where I could relax with my books and a wonderful cup of coffee.
I have always been into drinking coffee, I just take one cup in a day and that’s sufficient enough to revive me. But I am very particular about that one cup, it should be made the way I want it or I can simply throw it out.
So this craving for a place had always been very strong in me, they are several restaurants in Ahmedabad but none the way I wanted. Then I discovered Barista, which was good but not good enough for the kind of money they charged. I had been there twice or thrice and even didn’t like the coffee.
And then came CCD…for me luck was playing its lovely game….the very 1st Store in Ahmedabad cam just round the corner of my home…I started frequenting it, what basically attracted me to the place was
Its light ambience Lovely furniture Reasonably priced products
And then I discovered that they made the coffee the way I wanted it, they gave a very relaxed environment to you where you can simply sit for the whole day, read, drink and enjoy.
The staff is very good and very irritating at times. I think that they have some incentive scheme going on wherein the higher the bill amount the higher the incentive. The reason am saying this is that sometime these people pester you for add-ons in your coffee. They would even try to force their choices on you. The only way to handle them is to be strongly resistant. Because Taste to god knows it will only add-on to your bill amount;-).
My and my fren have some wonderful memories around CCD, we have spent hours sitting their, chatting, sharing some beautiful secrets and gossips too….
My personal favorites in a CCD are the Cappuccino with Irish Flavor, Walnut Brownie(purely Yummmie…), Chilli Paneer Puff, Vegetable wrap & samosa.
It’s better to avoid Juices out there as they are canned juice and they just add more sugar and ice in it.
Nowadays they have hiked the prices a little but it’s still worth it…
Then there is the option of Juke box, which usually is irritating if others are playing songs as the music is always loud and songs are not of ur choice. But if you are selecting the songs you’ll love it. Then there is that TV in the background playing MTV and voice on Mute that’s a constant factor in any of the CCD’s.
May be I have a very biased view about the place but being a veeeery regular customer in CCD I have always been pampered by the staff.
According to me it’s THE place for souls like me who love Coffee, who want a nice to place to sit & read in a relaxed environment. Trust me I have sat for hours out there and enjoyed every single min of it…and if somebody asks me to list my fav places this would surely be there in my list.
