A great scanner

I had been using the Canon LiDE 30 scanner for many years with no problems, until I purchased a new computer with Windows 7 installed. Apparently the LiDE 30 software and drivers will not work with an OS beyond Windows XP. So it was time to purchase a new scanner, the Canon LiDE 110.

Installation was a breeze with no hiccups. The scanner gets its power from the USB connection, so there is no power plug. The Canon 110 is about the same size as the old LiDE 30, but it has a nice feature where you can raise the top cover to accommodate books, etc. The front panel has four buttons: PDF, Auto Scan, Copy and Email. The LiDE 30 had just three buttons. Scanning time is about 7 seconds as opposed to the LiDE 30 which took about 90 seconds to scan a document. Great improvement.
