I got a DSLR to learn more about it and I feel like it is not less than mid-range DSLRs. It has the same sensor of 50D and has a little less auto focus points than that.
It is also splash resistance and can withstand light drizzles. It has good ISO but not as high as its predecessors. I am happy with the lens that comes with it. The body comes with 18-55mm Macro lens kit.
This camera also has OIS and also digital stabilization to take smooth video shots. It also performs well in low light condition but do attract lots of grains in the image processing. For an entry level camera performing like a mid-range pro cam is an awesome thing to have.
