I have bought the Canon Ixus 500 digital camera with the 5.0 megapixel. because if it’s performance & results I am forced to write a review about this camera. This is an excellent camera, with great results. The camera comes with a 32MB compact flash card, which is not that much sufficient to utilize the 5.0 megapixel results.
Normal I have great results with the 1600x1200 & superfine settings of the picture , but then you can store only 19 pictures in the 32MB. So I just bought a 512 MB flash card, now I am happy. The Other thing which I realized is the battery power, so if you really want to buy a digital camera, don’t forget to add the overhead cost of the extra battery pack + the memory card, because these are the nessecity of a Digital camera. I have bought it in germany trip, I was afraid about the waranty, but till now ’’touch wood’’, it is working like it should be.
One of my friends has a sony digicam as well Sony DSCp73 with 4.0 Megapixel, but that camera is bulky & doosen’t look good. The people who are not interested for the looks & want to use pencil batteries can go to sony, but I recommend the canon Ixus series. Plus you get the 100Mb web space to upload you images on the canon gateway, you just have to enter the serial number written on your camera, and then you can sahre the snaps with your friends. The camera comes with lot’s of software. which has every thing, red eye reduction, photo editing tools, drivers, link to canon gateway, slide show everything you need to do with the images.
The interesting thing is the photo stiching, in my trip to paris I used this photo stiching utility, you have to set you camera to the photo stiching mode & then camera shows in which direction you have to take the snap and from where, then use this software and it will automatically stich all pictures. Of course if you are professional you can change the settings & so on where to stich etc. But this is really useful when you travel, you can have really the memories of your trip.
